CURRENT PROJECT:

PROJECT 50 , From Street to Home

Los Angeles is the capital of homelessness.  SKID ROW is the nerve center of this capital.   The County of Los Angeles has initiated a pilot program designed by Common Ground in NYC  to identify, assist, and house 50 of the most vulnerable people living on SKID ROW.  They will be housed and offered supportive services through social care workers.  Los Angeles hopes that eventually 50 will turn into thousands.

Our documentary will follow the homeless clients as they are put into housing and offered a chance to add dignity, stability, and hope back into their lives.  And as important, we will document the dedicated optimistic case workers assigned to these hopeful individuals.

Will this pilot program be successful? Will Los Angeles be able to really make a difference in solving the viral homeless situation it faces in it's communities?  There are many who are critical, but Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, who fathered this pilot program,  intends to do what it takes to succeed.
